The butterfly hunters 2007

Early in 2007, I was approached by Anglicare, to see if I would like to create a surreal human sculpture for charity

...Of course I would!

So, on Friday the 20th of April at 5pm, Adelaide's Elder Park was over run by dozens of businessmen carrying butterfly nets!
I titled it 'The Butterfly Hunters' and it dealt with work/life balance.
The butterfly hunters are business people escaping from the stress of work to enjoy life & nature.
But these people haven't got to the top of their field by being relaxed,
so they take to leisure with the same intensity as they take to their work...is this defeating the purpose?
I created two paintings from photos of the event to be auctioned at charity cocktail party.
